EPSL provides clients with powerful, versatile solutions working at both strategic and operational levels, helping them realise their potential.

Independent from energy retailers, energy consultants and equipment suppliers, EPSL has developed extensive expertise in the unique area of enterprise-wide energy and utilities management.
EPSL's vision is to help organisations save time, money and the planet 1kWh at a time.
We do this by working together with organisations to best manage energy utilities and carbon emissions thereby reducing costs and carbon footprint.
Our values we live by:
We made a commitment in 1992 to make a real difference in the energy management field and have delivered on this commitment as demonstrated by our succesful track record and client accolades.
EPSL was established in 1992 by Hitesh Patel (Master of Engineering) who saw a gap in the market place after working as an energy manager for Telecom.
EPSL had its roots as a software-based electricity invoice management system (EnergyPro®), which enabled electricity usage and costs to be audited and benchmarked between an organisation's various sites, branches or offices.
Following the electricity reforms of the mid 90s - which saw the Government introduce competition to the industry, a much wider scope for energy management occurred. The software was expanded to accommodate multiple electricity retailers, business processes and other energy types including oil, gas, coal and utilities such as water. All of this preparing for carbon emission based reporting.
In 2003, EPSL evolved into a fully-fledged consultancy firm. The outsourced solution combined a monitoring and targeting system, expert advice from EPSL, with detailed management reporting to help embed sustainable energy management practices across all levels of an organisation.
In 2007, we completed the Energy Targeting and Monitoring resource guide for Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), which was subsequently rolled out with workshops by EECA. We also revised and led the "Energy Management and Triple Bottom Line" workshops run by the Energy Management Association of New Zealand (EMANZ) in 2007. These 2 day workshops were delivered in Auckland and Wellington.
In 2008 the EnergyPro® system was expanded with the advent of Carbon and Sustainability focus to cover emission activities in accordance with GHG protocols and ISO14064 standards with a comprehensive rewrite.
in 2009 the TOU / smartmeter module was introduced ensuring the R&D team's goal of staying ahead of the industry was fulfilled. This was another first in the industry from EPSL.

In 2000, EPSL received a Special Judges' Award in the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) EnergyWise Awards for its contribution in helping New Zealand organisations achieve outstanding results in energy efficiency.
Independant case studies carried out by EECA have confirmed savings of over $2m adding to an already impressive savings record for our clients.
Our leadership team is from complementary disciplines such as business management, engineering, energy management, information technology and energy industry.
